Zee Ladies

Zee Ladies

Chessie, Lisa, and I took the ski hill by storm last week. We did some synchronized skiing, champagne drinking, and yep, folks, we even did “the wiggle.” I still have a vivid memory of Chessie and I putting holes in our fingers with staples during third grade reading class. We were determined to become blood sisters despite the inevitable lecture we were due to recieve from Ms. Anderson. Lisa and I met drinking or rock climbing or playing ultimate frisbee. She was known as the one who could out party all the boys (and girls). Nonetheless, finding her was like finding the pot of gold at the end of a rainbow. She was up for anything, could say anything, and then climbed hard the next day. Despite Chessie living in New York and China, Lisa working six jobs at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, and my trying to live in Canada, we somehow stole two days together. I couldn’t help but be silly around these old friends that keep reminding me of my past: of those random college hookups when I was sure I was in love or of pumpin seed fights in seventh grade. Somehow, we are able to keep each other honest while at the same time honoring each other. mmmmmm. aaaaaaaah. Its like a fine wine: it just keeps getting better.
