Julia has spent the past five years living in various mountain towns including Squamish, Canmore, Jackson Hole, and Boulder. With the help of Mountain Hardwear and Black Diamond she has been climbing and skiing all over the world including most recently in Slovenia, South Africa, and the Waddington Range. Julia has been guiding since 2000 in the Alaska Range, Argentina, Ecuador, the North Cascades, the Tetons, and Canada to name a few places. She recently acquired IFMGA/UIAGM certification through the AMGA becoming only the fifth American woman to do so.

In her words:

I thrive when waist deep in powder far in the mountains. I thrive at the end of a long day rock climbing when my throat is dry and my muscles tired, and we have ten more rappels and six miles to hike. If the stove burns hot and the snow falls deep, I have found fulfillment.

I am a climber, skier, and guide. I learn many lessons in these pursuits: finding courage, entering the zone, knowing my limits, supporting my partners. Life is too short to put our passions on the back burner.

What motivates me? Growing past my limitations. Seeing others grow past theirs.
